Like most web site operators, Ebb collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Ebb’s visitors use the Site. From time to time, Ebb may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of the Site. Ebb also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on www.ebbsleep.com. Ebb only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to the Site choose to interact with Ebb in ways that require Ebb to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Ebb gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Those who engage in transactions with Ebb are asked to provide additional information, including, as necessary, the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Ebb collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Ebb. Ebb does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site-related activities.
Ebb may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to the Site. Ebb may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Ebb does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
California Privacy and “Do Not Track” Disclosure
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining products or services for personal, family or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us, once per calendar year, information about the customer information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of customer information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g. requests made in 2018 will receive information regarding 2017 sharing activities). To obtain this information from us, please send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Request for California Privacy Information” on the subject line and in the body of your message. We will provide the requested information to you at your email address in response. Not all information sharing is covered by the “Shine the Light” requirements and only information on covered sharing (if any) will be included in our response.
California law requires web sites to explain certain online practices regarding tracking of visitors. Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that lets a user allow its browser to notify web sites that the user does not want to have his or her online activities tracked. Our Sites currently do not respond to such browser-initiated signals.
We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under the age of 18. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you are at least 18 years of age.
